Zarahemla — Where the Story Comes Together

Zarahemla isn’t just a place on a Book of Mormon map. It’s where peoples, prophets, kings, battles, conversions, and some seriously important history all come together.

After being warned by the Lord, King Mosiah led his people out of the land of Nephi and discovered the people of Zarahemla, descendants of Mulek, who had come from Jerusalem around the time King Zedekiah was taken captive. The two peoples united, and Mosiah became their king.

From there, Zarahemla became the great Nephite capital—a political and spiritual center where King Benjamin gathered his people, Alma preached repentance, the Church was established, and generations of Nephites faced the eternal choice between faithfulness and rebellion.

But Zarahemla's story isn't exactly a postcard. The city was attacked, captured, reclaimed, and ultimately burned at the time of the Savior's death. Yet it was rebuilt.

And that's part of why we love Zarahemla.

It reminds us that places matter because people make choices there. Our own Zarahemla might be a home, a church building, a campsite, a community—or simply the place where we decide to turn back toward Christ.

Weak Things is about finding strength in unexpected places. Zarahemla fits right in: a place shaped by wandering, weakness, faith, failure, repentance, rebuilding, and redemption.
