Natal is a city in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.

The city is the main place associated with the Brazil Natal Mission.

1928Missionaries began preaching in southern Brazil in response to requests from German Church members living there.
1930sChurch services in Brazil began to be held in Portuguese after the government banned the use of German in public.
1940The Portuguese translation of the Book of Mormon was first published.
1966The first stake in South America was created in São Paulo.
1978The first temple in South America was dedicated in São Paulo.
July 1978President Max L. Shirts dedicated the Natal area for the preaching of the gospel in Rio Grande do Norte.
2013The Brazil Natal Mission was among the new missions organized in Brazil.
2023President Russell M. Nelson announced a temple for Natal during the April 2023 general conference.
