“I Am Clean”

President Gordon B. Hinckley
President of the Church

Like young Joseph F. Smith in his Hawaiian dream, priesthood holders must be clean in language, thought, body, and dress.

“Joseph, you are late.”
“Do not permit yourself to be tattooed.”
“Be ye clean that bear the vessels of the Lord”
“be clean—in language, in thought, in body, in dress”
“Sloppy dress leads to sloppy manners.”
