Inspiring Music—Worthy Thoughts
Elder Boyd K. Packer
Of the Council of the Twelve
Elder Packer taught that memorizing an uplifting hymn helps us drive unworthy thoughts out of the mind's stage.
“Music can be used to exalt and inspire”
“thoughts, like water, will stay on course”
“evil cannot tolerate the presence of light”
“Choose from among the sacred music of the Church”
Scriptures
Proverbs 23:7; D&C 25:12; Mark 14:26
