Stand Independent above All Other Creatures
Elder Bruce R. McConkie
Of the Council of the Twelve
Elder McConkie warned of coming tribulations and called Saints to prepare temporally and spiritually by becoming self-reliant and independent of the world.
“Great trials lie ahead.”
“We must be self-reliant.”
“Industry, thrift, and self-respect are essential to salvation.”
“He simply tells us to watch and be ready.”
