Doctrine and Covenants 122 All these things shall give thee experience
On March 22, 1839, Joseph Smith wrote from Liberty Jail to Edward Partridge and the Church. In this section, the Lord speaks to Joseph about the danger, false accusations, imprisonment, and family separation he may face. The Lord does not dismiss the suffering, but promises that it can give Joseph experience and be for his good. The section closes with reassurance to keep going and trust that God will remain with him.

How these connections are counted
Sources. Scripture text is the public-domain English text of the Doctrine and Covenants (sections 1–138). Section summaries, headings and questions are Weak Things’ own; the Church’s copyrighted headings and footnotes are not used. Joseph Smith Papers links point to the exact manuscript and printed pages. Connections come from the scripture links in every general conference talk from April 2000 through October 2026.
Distinct talks, not mentions. Each talk counts once per verse. Badges show whether the talk cites this exact verse or a passage that includes it, and whether the link is in a footnote or the talk text. Frequency is not a measure of doctrinal importance.
Your own words, their link. Summaries are Weak Things’ own. Talk text, Joseph Smith Papers images and transcriptions are not reproduced; every card links to the original. This independent study tool does not speak for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
