Doctrine and Covenants 93 Grace for grace
Joseph Smith’s history records that he received this revelation on May 6, 1833, in Kirtland, Ohio. Few contemporary records explain what prompted it, and the revelation is not mentioned in contemporary journals or in the histories of John Whitmer and John Corrill. On the back of what may be the earliest surviving manuscript, Newel K. Whitney summarized it as both a chastisement of several men about their families and a teaching about the Father and the Son. The revelation moves from Christ’s nature and the truths of human existence to counsel about family life, missionary work, and learning.

How these connections are counted
Sources. Scripture text is the public-domain English text of the Doctrine and Covenants (sections 1–138). Section summaries, headings and questions are Weak Things’ own; the Church’s copyrighted headings and footnotes are not used. Joseph Smith Papers links point to the exact manuscript and printed pages. Connections come from the scripture links in every general conference talk from April 2000 through October 2026.
Distinct talks, not mentions. Each talk counts once per verse. Badges show whether the talk cites this exact verse or a passage that includes it, and whether the link is in a footnote or the talk text. Frequency is not a measure of doctrinal importance.
