Doctrine and Covenants 100 An effectual door
On October 12, 1833, Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon received this revelation while traveling east to preach. The region around western New York and Upper Canada had seen growing missionary success, and the Lord promised that more people there were ready to hear the message. He gave the two men counsel about speaking with the Spirit and explained how their different gifts could work together. The revelation also offered comfort about Zion and the Saints who were striving to follow the Lord.

How these connections are counted
Sources. Scripture text is the public-domain English text of the Doctrine and Covenants (sections 1–138). Section summaries, headings and questions are Weak Things’ own; the Church’s copyrighted headings and footnotes are not used. Joseph Smith Papers links point to the exact manuscript and printed pages. Connections come from the scripture links in every general conference talk from April 2000 through October 2026.
Distinct talks, not mentions. Each talk counts once per verse. Badges show whether the talk cites this exact verse or a passage that includes it, and whether the link is in a footnote or the talk text. Frequency is not a measure of doctrinal importance.
