Doctrine and Covenants 15 Of the most worth

In June 1829, John Whitmer and his brother Peter Jr. each received a separate revelation after asking Joseph Smith to inquire about their duties. John’s revelation tells him that the work of greatest worth is to declare repentance and bring people to the Lord. The two revelations gave the same counsel, but each was addressed to one brother. John included his revelation in his handwritten index to Revelation Book 1, though the copy of the revelation itself is not extant.

How these connections are counted

Sources. Scripture text is the public-domain English text of the Doctrine and Covenants (sections 1–138). Section summaries, headings and questions are Weak Things’ own; the Church’s copyrighted headings and footnotes are not used. Joseph Smith Papers links point to the exact manuscript and printed pages. Connections come from the scripture links in every general conference talk from April 2000 through October 2026.

Distinct talks, not mentions. Each talk counts once per verse. Badges show whether the talk cites this exact verse or a passage that includes it, and whether the link is in a footnote or the talk text. Frequency is not a measure of doctrinal importance.

Your own words, their link. Summaries are Weak Things’ own. Talk text, Joseph Smith Papers images and transcriptions are not reproduced; every card links to the original. This independent study tool does not speak for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
