Doctrine and Covenants 16 “Of the most worth unto you”
In early June 1829, the Lord gave Peter Whitmer Jr. a personal revelation. It answers Peter’s repeated desire to know what would be of greatest worth to him: helping people repent and come to Christ. The revelation closely matches one for Peter’s brother John Whitmer, which apparently came just before it. Peter was baptized by Oliver Cowdery that June and was one of the Eight Witnesses of the Book of Mormon.

How these connections are counted
Sources. Scripture text is the public-domain English text of the Doctrine and Covenants (sections 1–138). Section summaries, headings and questions are Weak Things’ own; the Church’s copyrighted headings and footnotes are not used. Joseph Smith Papers links point to the exact manuscript and printed pages. Connections come from the scripture links in every general conference talk from April 2000 through October 2026.
Distinct talks, not mentions. Each talk counts once per verse. Badges show whether the talk cites this exact verse or a passage that includes it, and whether the link is in a footnote or the talk text. Frequency is not a measure of doctrinal importance.
Your own words, their link. Summaries are Weak Things’ own. Talk text, Joseph Smith Papers images and transcriptions are not reproduced; every card links to the original. This independent study tool does not speak for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
