Doctrine and Covenants 21 His word ye shall receive
The Church of Christ was organized on April 6, 1830, in Fayette, New York. While the group was still together at Peter Whitmer Sr.’s home, Joseph Smith dictated this revelation. It gives direction to the newly organized church, including how members should receive the Lord’s words through Joseph and how Oliver Cowdery should be ordained. The section also promises strength and blessings to those who labor in the Lord’s work.

How these connections are counted
Sources. Scripture text is the public-domain English text of the Doctrine and Covenants (sections 1–138). Section summaries, headings and questions are Weak Things’ own; the Church’s copyrighted headings and footnotes are not used. Joseph Smith Papers links point to the exact manuscript and printed pages. Connections come from the scripture links in every general conference talk from April 2000 through October 2026.
Distinct talks, not mentions. Each talk counts once per verse. Badges show whether the talk cites this exact verse or a passage that includes it, and whether the link is in a footnote or the talk text. Frequency is not a measure of doctrinal importance.
Your own words, their link. Summaries are Weak Things’ own. Talk text, Joseph Smith Papers images and transcriptions are not reproduced; every card links to the original. This independent study tool does not speak for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
