Doctrine and Covenants 30 Open your mouth in my cause
These three revelations came during the second conference of the Church, held in Fayette, New York, in late September 1830. David Whitmer was corrected about where he had placed his trust and was told to remain at his father’s home while serving nearby. Peter Whitmer Jr. was called to travel with Oliver Cowdery and support his mission to the Lamanites. John Whitmer was told to begin preaching at the home of Philip Burroughs, a fellow believer and to give his whole effort to the Lord’s work in Zion.

How these connections are counted
Sources. Scripture text is the public-domain English text of the Doctrine and Covenants (sections 1–138). Section summaries, headings and questions are Weak Things’ own; the Church’s copyrighted headings and footnotes are not used. Joseph Smith Papers links point to the exact manuscript and printed pages. Connections come from the scripture links in every general conference talk from April 2000 through October 2026.
Distinct talks, not mentions. Each talk counts once per verse. Badges show whether the talk cites this exact verse or a passage that includes it, and whether the link is in a footnote or the talk text. Frequency is not a measure of doctrinal importance.
Your own words, their link. Summaries are Weak Things’ own. Talk text, Joseph Smith Papers images and transcriptions are not reproduced; every card links to the original. This independent study tool does not speak for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
