Doctrine and Covenants 65 Prepare ye the way of the Lord

Joseph Smith dictated this revelation on October 30, 1831. William E. McLellin later connected it with the prayer “Thy kingdom come,” and the revelation itself asks that God’s kingdom spread across the earth. It may have been given during a Church meeting at John and Alice Johnson’s home in Hiram, Ohio, where McLellin preached that day. The message looks forward to the Lord’s coming and calls people to pray, prepare, and make God’s works known.

How these connections are counted

Sources. Scripture text is the public-domain English text of the Doctrine and Covenants (sections 1–138). Section summaries, headings and questions are Weak Things’ own; the Church’s copyrighted headings and footnotes are not used. Joseph Smith Papers links point to the exact manuscript and printed pages. Connections come from the scripture links in every general conference talk from April 2000 through October 2026.

Distinct talks, not mentions. Each talk counts once per verse. Badges show whether the talk cites this exact verse or a passage that includes it, and whether the link is in a footnote or the talk text. Frequency is not a measure of doctrinal importance.

Your own words, their link. Summaries are Weak Things’ own. Talk text, Joseph Smith Papers images and transcriptions are not reproduced; every card links to the original. This independent study tool does not speak for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
