Lesson 196 · Missionary Preparation
Sharing the Gospel out of Christlike Love
Help students understand that we share the Savior’s gospel out of love for Him and love for others.
Teach from the manual first
The lesson comes from the Church’s seminary manual
Use the official lesson as written. These activities take a few minutes to open or review class, and the send-home card helps families reinforce what was taught.
We show our love for Jesus Christ and for others by sharing His gospel.
New Testament Seminary Teacher Manual (2027). Follow your coordinator’s pacing guide.

Why we hesitate

Review
Lovest thou me?
John 21 in four votes, then the lesson’s “two hearts” as a class wall.
Send home
Feed His sheep
Send this to your class chat after the lesson. Students and parents can open the story and resources at home, alone or with family.

“He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.”John 21:17
Ask: Who is one person you could show the Savior’s love to this week?
Try: Draw two hearts: why you love the Savior, and someone you love. Let the first heart guide what you do for the second.
Weak Things is not made, approved or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These free activities support, and do not replace, the official seminary lessons and materials.
