Free for wards that join now

Ward Desk

Sacrament meeting, planned in one place

Plan speakers and Christ-centered topics weeks ahead. Fill in the program, conduct from your phone, keep track of every member request, and run the building cleaning schedule. Your whole bishopric works from the same page, so nothing waits on a text thread or one person's spreadsheet.

Free for every ward or branch that signs up now, and it stays free for your ward. No member records stored. Not an official product of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Sound familiar?

Most of a bishopric's Sunday stress happens before Sunday

You were called to minister, not to keep track of spreadsheets and texts. But someone still has to.

Did anyone ask a youth speaker for this week?

It's Saturday night and three people are scrolling the same text thread. Ward Desk shows every Sunday's speakers and where each one stands: asked, accepted or topic sent.

When did Brother Tyler last speak?

The speaking history lives on one counselor's laptop. Ward Desk keeps it in one place, so the whole bishopric can see who has spoken and when as you counsel together.

Can you think of a topic?

Topics get picked in a hurry, and some talks never get to the Savior. Ward Desk has 298 Christ-centered topics, each with scriptures and a way back to Christ.

Wait, which hymn are we singing?

Whoever is conducting puts the program together from sticky notes at 9:55. Ward Desk fills in the program from your calendar and gives you the words to read.

Bishop, could I get a few minutes this week?

Hallway requests are easy to forget by the time you reach the car. Ward Desk gives members one QR code, and every request goes into a queue.

Who's conducting next week?

The rotation lives in someone's head. Ward Desk rotates who conducts each month or each Sunday and fills it in.

Who's cleaning the building this Saturday?

The sign-up sheet in the foyer is half empty again. Ward Desk builds cleaning teams from your households and gives every Saturday a team and a team leader.

Does anyone on that team have a key?

A family shows up at 8:00 and the doors are locked. Ward Desk marks which households hold a key, from a key list the Ward Clerk keeps.

Is it our turn or the other ward's?

Nobody remembers which ward has the building this quarter. Ward Desk keeps the rotation with the other wards in your meetinghouse.

Sundays

Open it and know where this Sunday stands

The Sundays page is the first thing every member of the bishopric sees. This Sunday, the next Sunday with speakers and the weeks after that, all on one screen.

  • A ready bar for every Sunday. See at a glance how many speakers have accepted and who still needs a topic.
  • One tap moves a speaker forward. Asked, accepted, topic sent. Everyone on the bishopric sees the change right away.
  • Fast Sundays and general conference are filled in for you. Mark stake conference, ward conference or a Primary program, and that Sunday is set aside.
  • Coming up. Each week's theme and speakers, with color dots that show which Sundays are ready and which still need work.
  • Conducting sheet one tap away. Go straight from the Sunday to the program.

Plan ahead

See two months of Sundays and fill them by dragging names

Plan ahead puts a month, 8 weeks or a quarter in one grid. Every speaking spot is a box. Drag a name into an open spot and it's scheduled.

  • The Bishop sets the approved speaker list. He decides who can be scheduled. Counselors plan from that list, so no one is asked before the Bishop is ready.
  • Drag and drop. Drag from Ask next onto an open spot, drag a speaker to another Sunday, or drop one speaker on another to swap them. On a phone, tap a name and then tap a spot.
  • Every box shows its status. Planned, asked, accepted, topic sent, with the date each speaker was asked.
  • Guest speakers still fit. Stake visitors, missionaries and visiting members can be added as guests when your rule allows it.
  • Print the month for the bishopric meeting or the clerk's office.

Speaker list

The whole picture when you counsel together

The speaker list shows every approved speaker, when they last spoke and when they're scheduled next. As you prayerfully consider who to invite, the history is right there: who spoke recently, who is already scheduled, and who might be ready.

  • An approved list the Bishop controls. Add names as you go. Mark Brother or Sister and youth or adult, and set the name to print on the invitation.
  • Three speaker rules. Any name can be used. Or approved names only, with guest speakers allowed. Or approved names only.
  • Search and filter by youth or adult, or by when someone last spoke.
  • Assign from the list. Tap Assign next to a name to put them on a Sunday.
  • It shows who is on an Ask next list, so two members of the bishopric don't ask the same person.

Bring your history with you

Don't start over. Upload the speaker spreadsheet you already keep.

Most bishoprics already have a list of who spoke, when, and on what. Any member of the bishopric can bring it into Ward Desk in a few minutes, and the whole bishopric sees your past assignments right away.

  • Upload an Excel or CSV file, or paste rows straight from Google Sheets. All it needs is the date, the speaker and the topic. The part of the meeting, minutes and Sunday type are optional.
  • Check it before you save. Ward Desk shows a preview of every row, marks anything it can't read and skips it.
  • It fills in for you. Past dates are saved as "Spoke." Topic titles that match the library link to the Ward Desk topic automatically.
  • Your history goes to work. The Speaker list shows when each person last spoke, so you don't ask someone who just spoke, and topics used recently are flagged so they don't repeat too soon.
  • Take it back out any time. Export the whole calendar to Excel or CSV, edit it, and import it again to update the same talks.
Use your own speaking list, not a report from Leader and Clerk Resources. Ward Desk only needs first and last names, dates and topics. It never connects to Church systems.
Import and export window with four past talks pasted from a spreadsheet and ready to save

Ask next

Each member of the bishopric keeps a short list of who to ask next

Inspiration about who should speak often comes during the week: a returned missionary, a family that just moved in, a youth who bore a strong testimony. Write it down on Ask next before you forget, then counsel together about it as a bishopric.

  • One list each for the Bishop and his counselors, in order, with a short note like "after his mission homecoming."
  • Everyone can see all three lists. You can only change your own.
  • Names close at hand. The approved speaker list sits beside your lists, showing who is already scheduled, so you can add someone the moment you feel prompted.
  • Drag to schedule. Drag a name from Ask next onto an open spot in Plan ahead. It stays on the list with a check mark until you remove it.

Speaking Topics and Assignments

298 Christ-centered topics, each ready to assign

We want every talk to center on Jesus Christ or come back to Him before it ends. Every topic in Ward Desk is written that way. You choose the topic, and Ward Desk writes up the assignment for you.

298speaking topics
1,009scripture links
317general conference talks
3talk directions each
Topics page with filters for gospel principle, doctrine of Christ, special Sundays, speaker age and Come, Follow Me 2027

Search by word or scripture, or filter by gospel principle, part of the doctrine of Christ, holiday or special Sunday, adults, youth or children, and the Come, Follow Me 2027 reading.

Every topic has three scripture sets, with each verse quoted and linked to Gospel Library: 1,009 scripture links to 773 different passages across the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. Every topic also links two related general conference talks: 430 links to 317 different talks given from April 2012 to October 2026.

1

Find the right topic

Filter for a youth speaker on the Sunday before Easter, or search for "Gethsemane" or "Alma 7". Topics marked for children are simple enough for a Primary child giving a short talk.

2

Shape the assignment

Pick one of three talk directions or let the speaker choose. Pick a scripture set or include all three. Keep the two related general conference talks or turn them off for this speaker.

3

Send it your way

Text it, email it, copy the link or print a card with a QR code. The speaker opens a clean page with everything they need, and you never have to retype it.

Give the speaker a choice

A talk means more when it comes from the speaker's own experience. Every topic offers three directions, and you decide how much to choose for them.

Pick one directionThe assignment shows only that direction, for a focused talk or a first-time speaker.
Let the speaker chooseThe assignment page shows all three directions, and the speaker picks the one that fits their life.
Choose the scriptures tooPick one scripture set, or include all three and let the speaker decide which verses to use.

Add the name, Sunday and minutes, then save it to the calendar and send it.

What the speaker receives

The speaker doesn't need an account. They open the link or scan the QR code and see a simple page made for them.

  • Their name, the Sunday and how many minutes to speak, right at the top.
  • Their talk in 5 numbered steps: prayerfully study the topic, pick an idea, choose scriptures, include their own experience, and teach and bear testimony of our Savior.
  • Three ideas for the talk, with the one you suggest marked.
  • The scriptures, quoted, with each one linked to Gospel Library.
  • A closing line for their testimony of the Savior and three questions to ask themselves as they prepare.
  • Help preparing, from the General Handbook guidance for speakers to simple tips for the week before and the Sunday itself.
  • Two related general conference talks, if you leave them on.
  • A short note: thank you for speaking, we appreciate you, and ask a member of the bishopric if you have questions.
Every way to send it. Text, Email, Copy link, Print card with a QR code, Share, a calendar file or Google Calendar. Ward Desk opens your own Messages or email app with the assignment ready to send, so it comes from you.

QR codes that do the explaining for you

Hand a speaker a card when you ask them in the hallway. Post one sign so the whole ward knows how to reach the bishopric. Every QR code opens the right page on any phone camera, with no app and no account.

Print a card for each assignment, or all of a Sunday's cards at once, two to a page. Each card has the topic, the Sunday, the minutes, the same 5 steps, the scriptures and a closing line for their testimony. One QR code opens the speaker's full assignment page. Two more open the related general conference talks.

Sacrament Meeting Program and Conducting Assistant

A program that fills itself in, and the right words when you stand up

Most of the program is already known: who conducts this month, who leads the music, which speakers accepted and how long they'll speak. Ward Desk fills all of that in, so you only add what's new this week.

  • It carries over from week to week. The conducting rotation moves each month or each Sunday on its own. The chorister, organist and start time carry over, and speakers and topics come straight from the calendar.
  • Change a speaker on Plan ahead and the program updates. No second list to keep in sync.
  • Type a hymn number and the hymn name fills in. Choose where the rest hymn goes.
  • A timing check adds up the talk minutes and tells you when the meeting will end, before it runs long.
  • Conduct from your phone. Large-print wording for each part, a circle to check off as you go, and an option to keep the screen on.
  • Ward business is covered. Visiting leaders, announcements, new ward members, Aaronic Priesthood ordinations, baby blessings, confirmations and stake business.
  • Make the wording yours. Change any line the person conducting reads, then print a clean conducting sheet.

Member Requests and Bishopric Queues

One QR code, and no request slips through the cracks

Print one QR sign for the bishop's office door or the foyer, or share the link in your ward's group chat. Members can reach the bishopric any time, without an account and without catching you in the hallway.

  • Requests, not records. An interview request is only a request to meet: a name, a way to reply and who they'd like to see. Members don't say why. Ward Desk never stores what is discussed in an interview, or anything about worthiness or confidential matters.
  • Four simple tabs. Ask to meet with the Bishop or a counselor, ask for a time for Tithing Declaration, get help from the clerk, or share a suggestion.
  • Suggestions can be anonymous. No name, email or IP address is saved unless the member chooses to add their name.
  • Each request goes to the right queue. Requests for the Bishop are seen only by the Bishop and the executive secretary. Clerk requests go to the clerks.
  • Save the time on a request, then use the ready-made message to let the member know by text or email, from your own phone.
  • Ward Desk never contacts anyone. No automatic texts or emails. You stay in charge of every reply.
  • It cleans up after itself. Requests marked done or closed are deleted after 90 days.

Building Cleaning Schedule

A clean meetinghouse every Saturday, without the sign-up sheet

Build cleaning teams from your ward's households, give each Saturday a team and a team leader, and take turns with the other wards in your building. Members scan one QR code to see their Saturday.

  • Take turns with the other wards in your building. Clean every Saturday, trade off by month or by quarter, split the Saturdays of each month, or give each ward its own area. Other wards see ward names and dates only, never your members. A ward that isn't on Ward Desk gets a read-only link to the rotation.
  • Build teams in minutes. Enter the head of household only. Choose names from your General list or import an Excel or CSV file, then let Ward Desk build balanced teams or arrange them yourself.
  • Every team can open the building. Households holding a key or access card are marked Key, from a key list the Ward Clerk keeps for the bishopric. A spouse's key counts for the household. Door and alarm codes never go in Ward Desk.
  • A page for each team leader. Their team, their Saturdays, the checklist and a training video. They tap We're set, Done or Partly done, and the team can plan another time together, such as Friday evening.
  • One QR code for the ward. Members see the dates, team numbers, checklist and videos, add their Saturday to their calendar, and can switch the page to Spanish. No member names appear on it.
  • Ready to print. A bulletin board sheet with first initials and last names, household slips, a closet QR sign and task cards for each part of the checklist.
  • Hand it to a scheduler. Invite a Building Cleaning Scheduler or the Elders Quorum presidency by email. They can build and change the whole cleaning schedule, and never see the speaking schedule, programs, interviews or requests. Hand it off when they're released.
  • Ward Desk never contacts anyone. Copy reminder gives the team leader a text to send from their own phone. The bishopric's view links to the Church's Facility Issue Reporting tool for repairs.

Built to follow the General Handbook

A planning tool, not a membership system

Ward Desk keeps the planning a bishopric already does on paper and in text threads: who is speaking, on what, and who asked for a visit. It does not store member records or confidential Church information. Here is how it lines up with the Handbook.

  • Membership record numbers
  • Membership status
  • Birth dates or addresses
  • Ordinance records
  • Tithing or donations
  • Temporal needs
  • Interview notes
  • Worthiness or confidential matters
"The bishopric plans and conducts sacrament meeting. They ensure that the focus of the meeting is on the sacrament and building faith in Jesus Christ."
General Handbook 29.2.1.1, Planning Sacrament Meeting

Ward Desk: the program follows the order of the meeting listed in the Handbook, keeps the sacrament at the center, and its timing check helps keep the meeting to one hour.

"The bishopric extends invitations to speak well in advance of the meeting. Speakers bear testimony of Jesus Christ and teach His gospel using the scriptures."
General Handbook 29.2.1.4, Selecting Speakers

Ward Desk: Plan ahead makes it easy to ask weeks early, and every topic is Christ-centered and built on scriptures, and the speaker's steps end with "Teach and bear testimony of our Savior."

"Ward and stake business, such as the following: Sustaining and releasing officers and teachers (see 30.3 and 30.6)."
General Handbook 29.2.1.1, Planning Sacrament Meeting

Ward Desk: releases and sustainings always have their own lines on the program, even if you keep callings in LCR and turn Callings off in Ward Desk. Every part you can turn off says what still needs to happen, what to enter and what not to enter, with a link to the Handbook section.

"Ward and stake leaders should not store or share confidential Church information outside of Church-provided applications, systems, or internet services."
General Handbook 38.8.32, Privacy of Members

Ward Desk: it is designed not to hold that kind of information. The Handbook's examples are membership status, temporal needs and other personal information that is not publicly available, and Ward Desk has no place for any of them.

"Leaders ensure that information that is gathered from members is: limited to what the Church requires, used only for approved Church purposes, given only to those who are authorized to use it."
General Handbook 33.8, Confidentiality of Records

Ward Desk: each bishopric's team is invite-only, requests for the Bishop are seen only by the Bishop and the executive secretary, nothing is used for advertising, and finished requests delete themselves.

"The use of LCR data and membership information in third-party software is prohibited."
Church Technology Standards 4.8.3

Ward Desk: it never connects to Leader and Clerk Resources and never asks for LCR reports. You type the names, or bring in your own speaking list.

"Local leaders and members, including youth, have a responsibility to help keep each building clean and in good condition. The cleaning schedule should not be a burden on the members."
General Handbook 35.4.1, Cleaning and Maintaining Meetinghouses

Ward Desk: teams are small and spread across the turn, families don't have to come all at once, and teams can choose another time, such as Friday evening.

Ward Desk is not an official product of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Leaders should follow the General Handbook and the direction of their stake president.

Join now, free for good

Ready before your next bishopric meeting

Every ward and branch that signs up now keeps Ward Desk free for good, through every bishopric that follows. Wards that join later will pay a small yearly fee. It works on any phone, tablet or computer, and you can add it to your Home Screen like an app.

Use a free Weak Things account. Sign in with a code sent to your email, or with Google.

Start your bishopric

Enter your ward name and send invite links to your counselors, executive secretary and clerks.

Add your speakers

Add the names you already have, or import your speaking spreadsheet, then plan your next Sunday.

Will Ward Desk always be free?

For your ward, yes, if you sign up now. Every ward or branch that starts using Ward Desk before paid plans begin keeps it free, even after a new bishopric is called. Wards that join after that will pay a small yearly fee. We'll post the date on this page well before that changes.

Is Ward Desk an official Church product?

No. Ward Desk is a tool made to help bishoprics. It is not an official publication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Follow the General Handbook and your stake's direction.

Does it replace Leader and Clerk Resources (LCR)?

No. Ward Desk doesn't connect to Church systems and doesn't store any member records. It's a shared planning space for the things that usually live in text threads and spreadsheets: speakers, topics, the program and member requests.

Does it send texts or emails to members?

Never. When you send an assignment or reply to a request, Ward Desk opens your own Messages or email app with the words ready, and you press send.

Who can see our information?

Only the people your team admin invites. Requests for the Bishop are seen only by the Bishop and the executive secretary, and the Bishop decides who sees everything else.

How do I suggest an idea or report a problem?

Tap Suggestions in Ward Desk. It goes to the people who build Ward Desk, not to your ward, and you choose whether we may write back.

Can the other wards in our building use the cleaning schedule?

Yes. One ward sets up the building and adds the other wards. Each ward builds its own teams, and the wards share only ward names and dates. A ward that isn't on Ward Desk can follow the rotation with a read-only link.

What does it cost?

Nothing. There's no paid version and no trial period.

Will it work on Sunday without a signal?

Yes. The pages you opened last are kept on your phone for 14 days, so the program and conducting view still open in a chapel with no signal.

Give your bishopric its Saturday nights back

Plan the speakers, send Christ-centered topics, conduct with confidence, answer every member request and keep the building clean, all from one place.
