Doctrine and Covenants 37 Assemble together at the Ohio
In late 1830, missionaries had preached in northeastern Ohio, where many people joined the Church. Sidney Rigdon and Edward Partridge later visited Joseph Smith in New York, and Rigdon became a scribe for Joseph’s Bible revision. While Joseph and Rigdon were working in Canandaigua, the Lord directed them to pause the translation, preach to and strengthen the New York congregations, and then move toward Ohio. The revelation also called the Church to assemble in Ohio.

How these connections are counted
Sources. Scripture text is the public-domain English text of the Doctrine and Covenants (sections 1–138). Section summaries, headings and questions are Weak Things’ own; the Church’s copyrighted headings and footnotes are not used. Joseph Smith Papers links point to the exact manuscript and printed pages. Connections come from the scripture links in every general conference talk from April 2000 through October 2026.
Distinct talks, not mentions. Each talk counts once per verse. Badges show whether the talk cites this exact verse or a passage that includes it, and whether the link is in a footnote or the talk text. Frequency is not a measure of doctrinal importance.
Your own words, their link. Summaries are Weak Things’ own. Talk text, Joseph Smith Papers images and transcriptions are not reproduced; every card links to the original. This independent study tool does not speak for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
