Lesson 200 · Missionary Preparation

Loving Others

Help students feel Christlike love for those they find difficult to love.

Teach from the manual first

The lesson comes from the Church’s seminary manual

Use the official lesson as written. These activities take a few minutes to open or review class, and the send-home card helps families reinforce what was taught.

The Lord can help us see others as He sees them, and if we are willing, He can soften our hearts to love them.

Open class

Easy or hard to love

The lesson’s two sentence starters as class walls. Posts describe actions, never people.

Review

Ananias and Saul

Acts 9, then the lesson’s four missionary scenarios with the manual’s passages.

Teacher note: The personal question “Who do you find difficult to love?” is for silent reflection only. Don’t have students post about real people, and keep posts about actions, never names.

Send home

Eyes to see

Send this to your class chat after the lesson. Students and parents can open the story and resources at home, alone or with family.

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen.”Moroni 7:48

Ask: Who is someone you find hard to love, and what is one thing you could do for them?

Try: Pray this week to see one person as Heavenly Father sees them. Then act on what comes to mind.
