Peter stands apart at the left, wrapped in his cloak, eyes down. A servant woman at the right points at him: “This man was also with him.” Others sit by the fire on the stones and turn to look.

Bloch puts every part of Luke’s account into one view. A rooster stands on the steps. And behind the columns, small and lit in red, Jesus is being led away by guards. Luke says, “the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter.”
