Old Testament, Connected
Isaiah 53 With his stripes we are healed
The fourth Servant Song (Isaiah 52:13–53:12) describes a servant who is despised, wounded for others’ sins, silent like a lamb before its shearers, buried with the rich, and finally exalted. Abinadi quotes the whole chapter to King Noah’s priests (Mosiah 14) and explains that it speaks of Christ. The New Testament quotes it at least seven times.

Sources. Scripture text is the King James Version (public domain). Hebrew is the Westminster Leningrad Codex (public domain) with STEPBible tagging and lexicon data (CC BY 4.0). Old Testament cross references come from OpenBible.info (CC BY). Connections come from the scripture links in every general conference talk from April 2000 through October 2026, plus scripture lists in Weak Things sketch notes for selected apostles’ talks from 1971–1999. Latter-day Saint scholarship, other Christian commentaries, Jewish interpretation and historical sources are labeled separately.
Distinct talks, not mentions. Each talk counts once per verse. Badges show whether the talk cites this exact verse or a passage that includes it, and whether the link is in a footnote or the talk text. Frequency is not a measure of doctrinal importance.
