Old Testament, Connected
Malachi 4 He shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children
The last chapter of the Old Testament. The day of the Lord will burn the proud like stubble, but for those who fear His name the Sun of righteousness will rise with healing in His wings. Remember the law of Moses, and watch for Elijah, who will turn the hearts of fathers and children to each other. The risen Christ gave these words to the Nephites (3 Nephi 25), Moroni quoted them to Joseph Smith in 1823, and Elijah came to the Kirtland Temple in 1836.

How these connections are counted
Sources. Scripture text is the King James Version (public domain). Hebrew is the Westminster Leningrad Codex (public domain) with STEPBible tagging and lexicon data (CC BY 4.0). Old Testament cross references come from OpenBible.info (CC BY). Connections come from the scripture links in every general conference talk from April 2000 through October 2026, plus scripture lists in Weak Things sketch notes for selected apostles’ talks from 1971–1999. Latter-day Saint scholarship, other Christian commentaries, Jewish interpretation and historical sources are labeled separately.
Distinct talks, not mentions. Each talk counts once per verse. Badges show whether the talk cites this exact verse or a passage that includes it, and whether the link is in a footnote or the talk text. Frequency is not a measure of doctrinal importance.
Your own words, their link. Summaries are Weak Things’ own. Talk text is not reproduced; every card links to the original talk on the Church’s site. This independent study tool does not speak for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
