Our Mission of Saving
President Gordon B. Hinckley
First Counselor in the First Presidency
Recounting the 1856 handcart rescue, President Hinckley taught that our mission as Christ’s followers is a mission of saving those in need.
“to get them here”
“Go and bring in those people now on the plains”
“we became acquainted with him in our extremities”
“Sacrifice has always been a part of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
“must be a mission of saving”
