The Need to Teach Personal and Family Preparedness

Elder L. Tom Perry
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

Elder Perry called for teaching the basics of personal and family preparedness again, with the home at the heart of welfare.

“Five were wise and prepared.”
“It is time to teach the basics—again.”
“The home must be the heart of the welfare program.”
“It must start here.”
“all play and no work makes Jack a useless boy.”
