As young men, the sons of King Mosiah joined Alma the Younger in actively seeking to destroy the Church. Their lives changed dramatically when an angel appeared to them. Struck with the reality of their actions, they repented, experienced a powerful conversion, and dedicated the rest of their lives to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Their story is one of the Book of Mormon’s greatest examples of repentance, faith, missionary work, and enduring discipleship.

And they didn't exactly choose the easy mission assignment.

Rather than pursue positions of power or accept the opportunity to become king, the sons of Mosiah chose to preach among the Lamanites. They faced rejection, danger, imprisonment, hunger, physical hardship, and plenty of reasons to turn around and head home. Instead, they prayed, fasted, searched the scriptures, and trusted God.

Their efforts eventually helped bring thousands of Lamanites to a knowledge of the gospel and to a lasting change of heart.
