Mountain Do — Do Temple Work T-Shirt

Do the work. For the living. For the dead. For your family. For the kingdom.

Some mountains are climbed. Some mountains are moved. And some mountains require a little temple work.

The Mountain Do — Do Temple Work T-shirt from Weak Things is a retro, tongue-in-cheek tribute to one of the most important works happening on earth—and on the other side of the veil. With its vintage soda-inspired design, distressed colors, oversized MOUNTAIN DO lettering, est. 1830 detail, and the unmistakable command do temple work, this shirt brings a little humor to a very serious gospel principle.

Because around here, we believe in having fun while doing the work.

Latter-day Saints believe that Jesus Christ’s Atonement makes salvation possible for all of Heavenly Father’s children. Because many people die without having the opportunity to receive the ordinances of the gospel, the Lord has provided a way for those ordinances to be performed by proxy in holy temples. Those who have died retain their agency and may accept or reject the gospel and the ordinances performed for them.

That makes temple and family history work much more than genealogy. It is helping gather the family of God on both sides of the veil.

President Russell M. Nelson has repeatedly taught about the spiritual power found in this work. In his 2019 General Conference message “Spiritual Treasures,” he taught that prayer, scripture study, service in the temple, and family history work can open the heavens to us. He described the temple as the place where efforts to proclaim the gospel, perfect the Saints, minister, and redeem the dead converge.

Then, in his landmark 2021 General Conference address “The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation,” President Nelson taught that the temple is central to strengthening our faith and spiritual foundation. He emphasized that temple covenants connect us to Jesus Christ and that keeping those covenants brings His healing and strengthening power.

Elder Benjamín De Hoyos later emphasized the beautiful connection between temple work and family history work: they are, fundamentally, one work. Through that work, families can be united for this life and for eternity.

And that's where the Mountain Do philosophy comes in.

Don't just talk about family history.

Do it.

Find a name. Take a name to the temple. Perform an ordinance. Learn your family story. Turn your heart toward your fathers. Help someone else find theirs.

As the Prophet Joseph Smith asked, “Shall we not go on in so great a cause?”

So throw on the Mountain Do shirt, grab your temple bag, open FamilySearch, and get moving.

Mountain Do. Do temple work.

Because some work is simply too important to leave undone.
