Salt and Light | Scripture Story Sketch Notes | Printable PDF

A hand-drawn, doodle-style study of Matthew 5:13–16, built around the words: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

Walk a numbered map from a bowl of salt to a city on a hill and a lamp on its stand, then look closer at the salt, the basket, the stand and the sky. Context, Greek words and modern prophets help, while the focus stays on the Savior, the light we hold up.

What's Inside

• Cover with a numbered map and a contents list
• The story, plainly: four scenes, “Look to Him” notes, the hard King James words explained, and a draw-and-write page
• Look closer: nine cards on the salt, the fish, the road, the lamp, the city, the basket, the stand, the hands and the sky
• Where are you? Lost my savour, hiding, not sure I shine, or shining, with check-ins
• Salt and light: finish each line, then add your own
• Their world, their words: salt and covenants, D&C 101, 3 Nephi 12, and two Greek words
• Look to Him: what prophets teach about salt and light, with 3 Nephi 18:24
• Seek Him today: a question to ask in prayer, a seven-day tracker, talk-about questions and verses to hold
• Go deeper: summaries and links for adult and deeper study
• Sources: every quotation and gloss cited with links (scripture first, then Church sources, then labeled outside sources)
