A short history of the area

Bo is a city in Sierra Leone and is included in Bo District.

Bo School is a secondary school located in Bo.

The Church here

1981Michael Samura, a native of Sierra Leone, was baptized in Holland and later returned to Freetown.
1988The first Church missionaries arrived in Sierra Leone, and a branch was soon established in Freetown.
1990The first Church meeting outside Freetown was held in Bo after the Mohamed and Abibatu Turay family moved there.
1992The Bo Sierra Leone District was organized, with Mohamed Turay as president.
1997A meetinghouse in Bo was looted and burned by rebel forces.
2004A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Bo for the first Church-built meetinghouse in Sierra Leone.
2007The Sierra Leone Freetown Mission was organized.
2024The Sierra Leone Bo Mission was created from the Sierra Leone Freetown Mission.
