A short history of the area
Saratoga Springs incorporated on December 31, 1997, and became a city on May 31, 2001. The city grew rapidly as land around the hot springs and nearby foothills was developed for homes and neighborhoods.

- 1830The Church was organized in Fayette, New York, on April 6.
- 1847The first wagon company of Latter-day Saints arrived in the Salt Lake Valley on July 24.
- 1893The Salt Lake Temple was dedicated on April 6.
- 2017President Thomas S. Monson announced on April 2 that a temple would be built in Saratoga Springs.
- 2023The Saratoga Springs Utah Temple was dedicated on August 13 after an open house held from April to July.
- 2024The Utah Saratoga Springs Mission was organized on July 1.
